Keynote Address

“Accessibility, Universal Design and Libraries: Let’s broaden the discussion”

Amy Wolfe, Accessibility Librarian, Associate Professor and Open Educational Resources Headshot photo of Amy Wolfe. She's wearing glasses and looking at the camera.Developer, CUNY Office of Library Services and Brooklyn College

A great deal of the discussions around accessibility and libraries, and universal design in libraries, center on our users and whether the products and services we provide them are accessible. But what about library staff? What about the librarians and paraprofessionals who are working in the same spaces and using the same products, are their needs taken into consideration? How are we incorporating accessibility into the behind-the-scenes culture of our libraries?
In this keynote, Amy Wolfe will discuss ideas and provide suggestions on how to expand the conversation around accessibility to include ourselves and our work life, not just our users. Come join the conversation and be inspired, not deterred, by the chance to add accessibility into your library.
